Federal Express's applications of Netscape technology include:
- using Netscape Navigator as a standard application front end for 30,000 employees across platforms
including Sun, HP, Intel, and Macintosh;
- publishing internal technology reports, personnel guidelines, tax forms, employee evaluations, and
project-management documentation; and
- Creating an adjunct help-desk support application to streamline customer support by information systems.
Today's FedEx is a network of companies that share a rich
heritage of innovation and industry leadership. Federal Express has one of the most widely acclaimed interactive business
Web sites. Use of the Federal Express
Internet home page exceeded a milestone of 1 million hits per month at the end of 1995.
Over the next two years
FDX Corp. oversaw the assimilation of these companies and introduced them to many trademark service and technology enhancements.
